Even though India has a huge population to feed the labour force, it is plagued by a major health issue. Hence there is a huge need to feed the actual physical labour force of the country.

Middle East and North Africa
Middle East and Africa are still in a mess with constant conflicts and economic mismanagement. It started with deterioration of the economies of Pakistan, Lebanon and Turkey. Constant droughts due to climate change, conflicts, and overall poor living conditions make it a hellscape to survive here.



Men are trying to escape from these countries in droves. They used to take boats and smuggle themselves into Europe in 2020s. But since then Europe has massively strengthened it's borders and there is no way in. They stopped taking any refugees. The refugges now had to look EAST towards asia for better life opportunities. But China and Japan do not take any immigrants, since they are closed off asian countries. Also the culture and language is radically different.
 
Hence the best option in the mind of these male immigrants and refugees was India.
- They can blend in easily among brown people and no one would know. In asian and european countries, it was easier to tell them apart, hence they could be caught by police. But no such risk in India.
- India had the largest muslim population, hence they got a lot of support and help to get established
- English was a commonly used language, which all these people knew and understood. Hence it made integrating into society easier.
- Huge economy and demand for labour meant stable life and job


So all authoritative figures across the Islamic world starting from Pakistan, Morocco, till Somalia, Sudan started advocating their men to move to India. The family members would push it as economic opportunity, while the Imams in masjids will push it as the foretold "Ghazwa-e-Hind" and India being their rightful clay.

Meanwhile in India
Indian muslims noticed this trend and voted to bring in more of their brothers from the islamic world. They would ally with political parties which would advocate looser immigration policies. Thus began both legal and illegal immigration of muslim men into India.
By legal means, the immigration oficials would select tall, muscular, strong muslim men who could do the physical labour tasks that were in growing demand in the country. By illegal means, India had a vast coastline and border with the islamic world which was mostly unsupervized and as such it was extremely easy to get into India, as had been historically the case for 1000s of years.

Once in, they would set up their identities and get to do whatever they want. They were soon voting to push for more legal immigration from the islamic world and helping their brothers out in the west. Soon the % of muslim population in India swole from 20% to 33% and majority of the additional 13% were muslim males.

This. You can thank the colonial British raj for the endemicity of diabetes across the Indian subcontinent.

During the 800 years of mughal rule preceding East India Company, there had been about 20 famines - all of them had taken place due to natural causes (drought/flood/crop failure etc.).

Contrast that with the 90 odd years of English/British tyranny, during which at least 31 major famines had befallen us (including Bengal and Madras famines), inflicted by drought or engineered by misguided economic policies (mostly the latter). This indicates that the last 5/6 generations before partition had suffered through 4-5 bouts of mass starvation each. Legal Immigration:
Most applicants will be from Middle East and Africa, due to the reasons mentioned previously. There is a demand for labour intensive work to employ these immigrants and hence the selection is done based on age (25 to 45 yr old male), tall and somewhat muscular (so that they can lift and carry things). Most of these men would be unmarried, since they are leaving home at a younger age. Even if they are married, they mostly leave behind their wives and parents until they are struggling in a new country to settle down properly.

As a result, there is an influx of tall, strong, virile muslim men into the society. Most of them end up settling in major cities, where they can find work. Since major cities tend to be more liberal and less religious (more concerned with making money), city officials and residents do not raise any concerns. Their goal is to make money, buy their own house and settle down. But since the property prices have gone through the roof, this dream seems more far-fetched by the idea.

Essentially this is like the current Middle East - South Asia model of expat workers, but the difference is, we do not police people as strongly with theocratic rules and allow them to settle down and get citizenship. The idea is to make these immigrants feel at home, just like western countries do to their immigrants
 
Ilegal Immigration:
Due to the large open border with Pakistan (from where many migrants also come from), slipping into India is easy for the refugees coming from Middle East. The people coming from Africa use the sea route through Arabian sea and land somewhere along the long coastline. Coast guard turn a blind eye, because the smugglers pay them bribes. Once in the illegals get documents made easily by illicit networks and can move, work freely.

This just shows that even though the country got richer, the law/order and corruption still exists because of the local population mentality and that easily allows any people group to infiltrate and takeover the country.

Physical differences between Indian male and Muslim male:
